Maffra: Police investigating after man killed in Gippsland hit-run
A small town in Gippsland has been left in shock following a hit-run which claimed the life of a local man in the early hours of this morning.

A SMALL country town has been rocked as a manhunt is underway following a horror-hit run which claimed the life of a local man on Sunday.
A 36-year-old Maffra man was with a friend when he was mowed down by a stolen Kia on Morrison St at Maffra in Gippsland about 3.40am.
The injured man’s friend raised the alarm and called emergency services as the driver fled the scene.
The victim was flown to a Melbourne hospital where he later died.
Police are yet to make any arrests but located the stolen Kia in Roberts Court in Maffra about 6am Sunday.
Detectives spent much of Sunday at the crime scene to determine exactly what occurred in the early hours of the morning.
The death is being investigated by detectives from both the Homicde Squad and the Major Collision Investigation Unit.

It comes just days after a man was killed and a six-year-old boy was left fighting for life after a three-car collision in Glengarry on Tuesday.
The driver of one of the vehicles involved, a 35-year-old Glengarry man, was killed at the scene while the six-year-old boy was flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Tuesday’s collision, which occurred at the intersection of Traralgon-Maffra and Farmers roads in Glengarry, is about 50km from Sunday’s fatal hit-run.
