Luke Dyson’s journey from Melton tattoo studio to New York courtroom

Jordan De Goey’s New York co-accused Luke Dyson was an in-demand tattoo artist hailing from Melton before being arrested in the Big Apple.

Jordan De Goey’s New York co-accused Luke Dyson is an in-demand Melbourne tattooist who has been in the game since his teenage years.

The 28-year-old had recently spent time working out of a studio in California, where he appears to have spent time with De Goey before heading to the Big Apple.

Mr Dyson has been connected with several studios around Melbourne, most notably the Addikted to Ink chain’s Coburg outlet.

He has also done work out of M9 Tattoo in Avondale Heights and Royal Ink at Melton.

Before his New York arrest, Mr Dyson spent time plying his trade in the US.

His social media thanks the Ganga Tattoo business in Los Angeles for allowing him to spend a week working there.

Images from that time show Mr Dyson partying with De Goey in West Hollywood on October 27.

An online biography of Mr Dyson says he was brought up in Melton and became an apprentice tattooist at 17.

“Luke is able to punch out any type of tattoo and has a liking for Chicano, black and white realism, portraiture and dot work,” it states.

But his American working holiday turned nasty on the weekend when he was arrested for allegedly attacking a man with a bottle.

He and De Goey are accused of groping a woman on the dance floor of the PHD Rooftop Lounge in Chelsea, causing a man to intervene.

He was then allegedly attacked by Mr Dyson and De Goey.
