Victoria Police is investigating after an “intimate image” of Melbourne socialite and singer Rebecca Behbahani was leaked online.

Ms Behbahani, the fiancee of billionaire investor Alex Waislitz, called in the police after a cache of her private and personal photographs was posted without her knowledge or authority on an anonymous social media account on Thursday morning.

The images, some clearly manipulated and others real, were posted along with taunts and threats of more photos to come.

True to their word the unknown individual or individuals behind the account posted a further batch of photos on Friday. The account disappeared on Saturday.

Ms Behbahani confirmed through a spokesman that she had reported the “malicious” act of “extortion” to Victoria Police.

“I am deeply distressed by this malicious invasion of my privacy. No one deserves to be subjected to such appalling acts,” Ms Behbahani said in a statement.

“This unlawful conduct is part of a long running and escalating campaign which is now the subject of investigation by the police.

“It has been a living nightmare.

“We will not give in to the extortion.

“I trust that the perpetrators will face the full force of the law.”

Victoria Police confirmed on Saturday that it was investigating the posting of the images.

“Police are investigating reports that several images, including an intimate image of a person, were distributed online on a social media platform on 20 and 21 June,” a Victoria Police statement said.

“As the investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

Ms Behbahani is engaged to billionaire Melbourne investor Mr Waislitz, who was previously married to Heloise Pratt and was the son-in-law of Melbourne business giant Richard Pratt.

She is a fledgling pop singer who goes by the stage name of Behani and over the past 18 months has been slowly building her audience, catalogue of songs and experience.

She has so far released six songs; Do It, Again & Again, Pretty Beast, Comfortable, Real Man and Let Me Know.

Her songs often feature saucy lyrics such as “Do it, maybe we should just do it, You know that I get juicy, You know that I taste fruity,” in the track Do It.

In Pretty Beast, she sings: “Don’t say I didn’t warn ya I’m a f---ing pretty beast” and in Real Man she hits listeners with the line “Show me something real, Not just something I can spend, But something I can feel, Respect my intellect not just my sex appeal”.

Ms Behbahani has worked with US hitmakers Ne-Yo, French Montana, Tyga and DJ Khaled and various well-regarded international producers such as Scott Storch and is currently filming a documentary charting the making of her soon to be released debut album.

She recently signed to the ADA arm of Warner Music.

Ms Behbahani and Mr Waislitz announced their engagement in November 2020. They have a daughter, Storm Waislitz.
