A kids community soccer club coach is accused of being among the hordes of Victory fans who stormed the pitch in violent scenes at AAMI Park.

The Sunday Herald Sun can reveal Football Australia slapped Enver Malkic with a five-year ban from A-League matches following the shocking field invasion on December 17.

The president of Balmoral Football Club in Derrimut has also been charged by Victoria Police with public nuisance, disrupt a match and enter a sporting competition space.

Club sources say Mr Malkic has been in the presidency role for the past two years and is “heavily involved” with Melbourne’s soccer community.

It is understood Mr Malkic, 27, has not stepped down from the role and continues to coach children despite facing criminal charges, which he plans to vehemently fight in court.

His LinkedIn profile says he has been a head coach at the football club for the “junior boys team” since January 2018.

It also lists him as owning and operating his own fish and chip shop in Cairnlea.

The Victoria University student, who is studying a Bachelor of Sport Management, describes himself on the site as “highly ambitious, enthusiastic and passionate”.

Mr Malkic also follows Instagram accounts featuring extreme hooligan content, which shows supporters tossing flares and marching on the street.

He is among 12 people, aged 18 to 33, who will front Melbourne Magistrates Court later this month over what has been dubbed the darkest day for soccer in Australia.

Others include Alex “The Bucket Man” Agelopoulos and Muhammed Varsan, who have both been banned from matches for life.

Mr Agelopoulos, 23, from Northcote, became the face of the mayhem when vision was released of him allegedly smashing Melbourne City goalkeeper Thomas Glover in the face with a metal bucket.

He is charged with eight offences including intentionally causing injury, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, disrupt a match and enter a sporting competition space.

Mr Varsan, 19, from Meadow Heights, is also facing charges including behaving in a riotous manner and two counts of assault over alleged attacks on Glover and a security guard.

A 20-year ban was placed on Peter Kostopoulos, 18, from Alphington, after he also allegedly assaulted Glover.

Others accused of disrupting the match include Ricardo Di Marco, 21, Rottanak Tommy Kim, 23, Vincent Marinucca, 33, Jack Haddrick, 26, Jake White, 26, Matthew Mclarty, 18, and Shane Marino, 26.

The only woman to be charged is Megan Collins, 29, from Albion, who was photographed running on to the field.

Authorities were forced to shut down the derby match between Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory following the violence.

It was reported at the time that the pitch invaders mostly involved members of extreme hooligan groups with a history of terrorising A-League and suburban soccer games.

The three groups — Horda (Spanish for “horde”), M3 and Nomadi — have about 100 members combined and are the most extreme factions of hardcore supporter group Original Style Melbourne (OSM).

They style themselves as “ultras”, after the worst of Europe’s soccer thugs, with members often posing on social media with banners, some wearing balaclavas to conceal their identities.
