Mr McCurley appeared virtually in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday where the matter was adjourned for committal mention on November 10.

Mr McCurley is set to tie the knot with his fiancee at Acacia Ridge Winery Yarra Valley at the end of the month.

A wedding website titled “celebrating our love” features a countdown to the special day as well as memories such as their engagement in May 2021.

Mr McCurley’s court hearing occurred the same day another first constable was charged with sexual offences.

The 35-year-old from the Western Region was charged by Victoria Police with seven counts of sexual assault following an internal investigation.

Police allege the assaults occurred between 2018 and 2020 in western Victoria while the member was off duty.

He will appear before a court at a later date.
