A restaurant in Campbellfield has been set on fire, the latest in a string of early-morning arson attacks targeting eateries in Melbourne’s north.

A Middle Eastern restaurant in Melbourne’s north has been torched in another early morning arson attack.
Police and fire crews were called to Al Marjan restaurant, the former site of Italian restaurant Casa Incontro Pizza and Pasta, along the Hume Highway in Campbellfield about 4.30am Tuesday after a blaze broke out inside the venue.
The fire, brought under control by three crews in a matter of minutes, has been deemed suspicious by police with the front door of the restaurant broken in.
CCTV footage shown to the Herald Sun by a nearby business captured smoke billowing from the top of the building.
A nearby employee arriving at work could then be seen walking over to the scene before calling emergency services.
Moments later and within quick succession, three fire trucks arrived at the premises with their lights and sirens activated.
Forensic officers and arson chemists could be seen scouring the scene for clues as the incident remains under investigation.
Videos posted to TikTok by the restaurant only days ago indicated the newly-renovated venue was set to reopen.
