Terrified commuters have fled the scene as a group armed with a machete punched and kicked a teen in a vicious attack at a train station in Melbourne’s west.

A group of youths armed with a machete has been filmed punching and threatening a teen in a terrifying attack at a train station in Melbourne’s west.
The group of four could be seen approaching an unarmed teen at St Albans station on Tuesday before cornering him behind a large pole as he tried in vain to protect himself.
Vision of the incident, captured screams from horrified onlookers as dozens of commuters fled the violence.
One of the thugs dressed in all black threatened the teen, holding a machete up to his face and throat while other attackers watched on — some brandishing their own weapons.
The victim, wearing a grey tracksuit, can be heard pleading with his attackers.
The attack was captured by multiple security cameras in the area.
Police responded to the attack but the victim is yet to come forward.
This incident is the latest in a string of violent ambushes in Melbourne’s west involving suspected youth gangs armed with machetes.
In June this year 14-year-old Ethan Hoac was allegedly stabbed to death whe walking home from Ginifer station, only one stop away from St Albans on the Sunbury line.
In May, Sixteen-year-old Pasawm Lyhym died after an alleged stabbing attack by a group of youths near Sunshine station.
Social worker Les Twentyman said he feared machetes had become status symbols for violent offenders and should be banned.
“Absolute cowards,” he said.
“You’re going to do real jail time.”
