A man arrested over a gun attack on a moving car at Keilor Lodge has been charged.

The 30-year-old from Keilor Lodge was arrested hours after the vehicle, with a man and woman on board, was shot at on Sunday morning.

The charged man will face counts of discharging a firearm into a moving vehicle, conduct endangering life, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and other weapons offences.

He will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday evening.

Police said the frightening chain of events unfolded at 7.10am on Sunday in Turin Place when shots were fired from one vehicle into another.

A 32-year-old Keilor East man and a 30-year-old Keilor Lodge woman, who were in the car peppered with shots, were not hurt and drove away.

They then crashed into parked cars before the man tried to run away.

Police will allege he was caught and assaulted by two men from the other car, leaving him with minor head injuries.

The assailants then drove away.
