Dandenong stabbing: Five teens charged over shock bus stabbing

A group of teens including three 15-year-old boys fled a vicious stabbing attack in Dandenong in a stolen car before breaking down on the Eastlink, police allege.
Five boys — aged from 15 to 17 years old — were charged with cause injury and theft related charges on Thursday following the alleged incident which left two 17-year-old boys with serious injuries about 5.30am on Wednesday.
Police allege a brawl broke out between two groups of weapon-wielding youths at a park on Foster St before the two victims were chased by a group of boys to a nearby bus parked at Dandenong train station where they were stabbed.
The five youths were allegedly on the run for several hours, with Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives catching up with them after their allegedly stolen Mazda sedan broke down on the Eastlink.
One victim was expected to have surgery for multiple stab wounds while the second victim suffered a serious stab wound to his arm.
Detectives charged all five boys with recklessly cause serious injury, intentionally cause serious injury, affray, theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
Three boys — two 15 year olds and one 17-year-old— fronted a Children’s Court from the Parkville Youth Justice Centre on Thursday.
Magistrate Suzette Dootjes remanded the 15-year-old — who made no attempt for bail — to appear at a Childrens’ Court on April 15.
The 17-year-old was also remanded and is expected to make an application for bail at a Children’s Court on April 8th.
The two remaining boys are expected to front a Children’s Court at a later date.
