Ousted bikie Toby Mitchell has shirked his infamous bad boy image and received a gold star on a report from Corrections Victoria in his latest court appearance.
The former Mongol fronted the County Court on Friday morning for judicial monitoring following the overturning of a two-month prison sentence over a drunken pub fight in country Victoria late last year.
Mitchell was originally ordered to spend Christmas behind bars after he pleaded guilty to striking a man at an Echuca pub during his 47th birthday celebrations in November.
Mitchell successfully appealed the jail term and was in April re-sentenced to a one year community correction order.
As part of the court order, the former kick boxer was ordered to undergo treatment for mental health problems, alcohol abuse and anger management and be monitored by Judge George Georgiou periodically to ensure he was complying.
Four months on, Judge Georgiou said Mitchell “had not put a foot wrong”.
“The report is very positive,” he said. “It shows that you have attended all the appointments you have been asked to attend, you have engaged meaningfully in all of the supervision (and) counselling sessions,” he said.
Mitchell, who appeared from his lawyer Theo Magazis’ office, grinned as the judge told him to “keep up the good work”.
Judge Georgiou previously granted the former bikie boss’ appeal, ruling he could not be satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that Mitchell had struck his victim with a closed fist.
Mitchell was in the border town with more than 100 bikie mates for his birthday bash when he slapped a patron at the American Hotel on November 28 last year.
The footage showed Mitchell sitting with a woman at a table before he gets into an argument with a punter.
Judge Georgiou accepted Mitchell had been provoked by the victim who was drunk and, without invite, had spent up to an hour hanging out with the bikie and his partner.
The legal battle came soon after Mitchell’s dramatic expulsion from the Mongols.
Mitchell celebrated his court victory with a lavish dinner at Flower Drum with mates including ex-AFL star Jake King and former Mongols bikie Dylan Goddard.
Later in the evening on April 13, he made a cryptic online post about “walking away” from toxic scenarios and officially cut all online ties with the outlaw motorcycle gang.
Mitchell will face court again for another judicial monitoring on December 12.
