A former PwC associate has fronted court accused of sexually assaulting 33 women at a Chapel St nightclub, including by touching their buttocks, breasts and genitals.

David Rayan, 33, faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with 73 counts of sexual assault.

Wearing an oversized dark suit with a blue tie, the alleged sex pest sat quietly behind his defence lawyer with his hands folded on his lap.

The Cranbourne man allegedly sexually assaulted the women in a Prahran nightclub across three nights this year: September 23, October 14 and October 21.

Charge sheets reveal that Mr Rayan is mostly accused of “touching” the women’s buttocks, however he is also accused of touching or “grabbing” the breasts and vaginas of several women.

On one occasion, he allegedly attempted to kiss a woman on the buttocks.

While on another occasion, he allegedly rubbed his penis against a woman’s body.

Mr Rayan has also been accused of kissing women’s shoulders and heads, as well as stroking the skin on one woman’s back.

He was first charged with six counts of sexual assault on October 27, before he was charged with dozens of further counts on December 12.

A prosecutor told the court investigators are combing through a “large amount of CCTV footage” from the undisclosed venue to identify each alleged incident.

The court heard some of the complainants are yet to be identified and are in the process of being matched to their IDs, which are scanned by the nightclub upon entry.

“A large number of these people are not Australian citizens,” the prosecutor said.

He added that police would have to work with authorities overseas to track down these women to provide them with an opportunity to make a statement.

It is not known how Mr Rayan’s alleged offending came to the attention of police.

The computer science graduate worked for embattled consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers for two years as an associate in “IT risk assurance”, according to his LinkedIn profile.

But the Herald Sun understands Mr Rayan had his employment terminated prior to these alleged incidents at the nightclub.

Magistrate Vincenzo Caltabiano extended his bail, however his conditions were not revealed to the court.

Mr Rayan left the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court more than three hours after his hearing had concluded, refusing to answer questions by the awaiting media.

He will return to court for a committal mention on May 10.
