Detective Sergeant Craig West said: “It was very well planned, they were quick and efficient and got away without anyone noticing them,”

“I’ve worked here for eight years and I haven’t seen anything like this before.”

The men allegedly entered the shop through the backdoor armed with a knife and demanded a worker open a safe.

Police alleged the pair, who wore gloves, tied up the victim with cable ties and gagged him as they robbed the store before stealing his car and dumping it nearby.

After the alleged offenders left the store, the worker managed to go outside and flagged down help.

Sgt West said the victim, who wasn’t physically injured, was still “traumatised” from the event.

“The victim is traumatised and very concerned,” he said.

“It’s a terrible thing to happen in the workplace.”

The men allegedly stole 21-carat gold necklaces, bracelets, pendants, rings and cash with a total value of between $2m and $2.5m

Investigators have released computer-generated images of the suspects and CCTV of the Toyota in the hope it will yield public information.

One of the men is described as caucasian, about 165cm and skinny. He was wearing a green fluoro top, brown work pants, sunglasses and a balaclava or similar facial concealment.

His alleged accomplice was 175cm to 180cm, with white and black hair, and is believed to be in his late 50s.

He wore a dark cap, black sunglasses, a blue face mask, orange top and pants.

Police say they have been described as very strong.
