Creepy footage shows masked intruders scoping out Deanside home

The victim of a terrifying home invasion in Melbourne’s west has told of the moment five offenders wandered through his home and bedroom before allegedly stealing two luxury cars while he slept.

The victim of one of three alleged aggravated burglaries has told of the moment five offenders wandered through his home and bedroom before allegedly stealing two luxury cars while he slept.

CCTV footage allegedly showed five masked offenders scoping out the Deanside home just after 2am on Tuesday.

They shone torches through the windows of the new, double-storey home before cutting flywire and prying open a window, climbing inside.

One of the offenders was pictured calmly sitting on a deckchair on the home’s patio, tying a shirt around his face to conceal his identity.

At least three of the five offenders were not wearing shoes or socks to avoid making noise inside the house.

A number of them were seen walking through the living room while at least one wandered into the occupant’s bedroom.

The group of five are then accused of stealing a Ford Mustang, a Porsche Macan, and a wallet.

The resident, who did not want to be named, said a watch from his bedside table was also missing.

“My partner and I were sleeping and did not hear anything to wake up,” he said.

“An item on my bedside table is now missing so they were in our room while we were sleeping.

“Behind the sliding door that they entered through, is a window that was slightly opened.

“They cut the fly screen, rolled the window as far open as they could from the inside … and one squeezed through that gap to get in. (He then) let everyone else enter.

“As soon as they found the car keys in the house, they were done with searching the backpack and left it in the backyard.”

Victoria Police said it was one of three alleged aggravated burglaries in the area that night.

The group are also accused of breaking into homes at Kalinda Ave and Marlee Drive nearby.

They allegedly stole a 2023 Great Wall LDV ute from Kalinda Ave while wallets were nicked from Marlee Drive.

Police are yet to recover the three vehicles but they successfully arrested three youths on Tuesday morning.

A 17-year-old has been charged with home invasion and theft of motor vehicle.

He was remanded in custody to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Two other boys, both 16, have been charged with handling stolen goods and will front court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
