A first responder has described the “chaotic” scenes they faced when arriving at Love Machine nightclub following a deadly drive-by shooting.

Senior Constable Valerie Mills was among the first police officers on the scene of the shooting outside the Prahran club in the early hours of April 14, 2019.

“It was really chaotic,” she told the Supreme Court trial of Jacob Elliott and Allan Fares on Monday.

“There was a lot of people. Thy were screaming at us to help.”

Mr Elliott, 21, and Mr Fares, 24, stand accused of murdering security guard Aaron Khalid Osmani, 37, and patron Richard Arow, 28, in the shoot out.

Sen Constable Mills said Mr Osmani was “in a bad way” when she arrived.

“He was covered in blood,” she said.

She then ran to Mr Arow’s side to perform first aid, but was told by someone holding his hand that he was no longer gripping their hand back.

“They said, ‘I think it’s too late, I don’t think he’s alive’,” she said.

Both men were taken to hospital where they later died from gunshot wounds.

Sen Constable Mills said she then heard on the police radio reports of another shooting at nearby Blue Bar on Chapel St so she headed there.

She said she found Ukash Ahmed slumped over near Blue Bar with a gunshot wound to his arm, but quickly discovered he had been caught in the crossfire as he waited in the line with other patrons to get in to Love Machine.

“He’d run away — he thought it was a terror attack,” she said.

She said he was coming in and out of consciousness as she put pressure on the wound.

“The blood was pulsing out into the palms of my hand,” she said.

Mr Ahmed survived.

CCTV played to the court showed the moment shots were fired from a Porsche Cayenne as it drove past the nightclub about 3.15am.

The car was captured on camera driving past four times from 3.04am, before the shots were fired on the fifth time.

The jury earlier heard the motive for the shooting was revenge for Mr Elliott’s younger half-brother Ali Maghnie being ejected from the nightclub hours before.

“You’re all f---ed; you wait, I’m coming back,” Mr Maghnie yelled as security guards kicked him out of the club.

Instead, Mr Elliott returned with associate Allan Fares.

They have both pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder.

The court heard Mr Elliott does not dispute firing the gun, but claims he never intended to kill.
