A man has died after being found unconscious with a stab wound at an Opie Road address in Albanvale at about 7.45am on Saturday.
The man died at the scene.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Police have cordoned off Opie Road approximately 150 metres from the crime scene in either direction as they continue investigating.
Yvonne Jonas was shocked to find police in the quiet suburban street she and her husband have lived in for over two decades.
“I’ve lived here for 26 years and never seen anything like this. We see police cars sometimes, but it could be anything,” she said.
“Nothing this tragic has ever happened.”
