‘Adam’s young life was cut short in a senseless act, leaving his family and friends heartbroken’

A young Wyndham Vale man killed just metres from his home on Friday night was “simply trying to enjoy a prelim AFL final at home with his family and friends”, when his life was cut short, organisers of a fundraiser for his funeral say.

Adam Robinson, 21, has been described as “vibrant and cheerful” and “the pillar of strength for his family, always wearing a smile that could light up a room”, before his brutal, stabbing death.

“Adam’s young life was cut short in a senseless act, leaving his family and friends heartbroken and grappling with the overwhelming burden of arranging a proper farewell for their cherished son and friend,” Lyneal Wedd said in his GoFundMe post.

Adam Robinson, who was fatally stabbed on Friday night, has been lovingly remembered.

“In honour of his memory and the love he brought into the lives of all who knew him, we are coming together to help raise funds for his funeral costs. Every contribution will make a significant difference and provide comfort to his grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. Adam was stabbed after a brawl near his home on September 22.

Tributes have flowed on social media for Adam, with a witness describing seeing him lying on the street “not moving” in Wyndham Vale next to a baseball bat.

It’s understood two groups of people were in a fight at Butler Grove about 9.45pm on Friday before Adam was killed, and that he was with a friend at the time and chased along the street before being fatally stabbed.

Police said on Tuesday there was no update on the homicide investigation into his death.
