Nikki Komiazyk believes Miechel — released from prison last year after serving a 12-year sentence over a bungled burglary he committed with underworld informer Mr Hodson — holds the key to the circumstances surrounding the burglary and her parents’ 2004 executions.

Yesterday, lawyers for her siblings, Andrew and Mandy, were given status by the commission, but most evidence during the proceedings were in closed court.

Ms Komiazyk said Miechel’s evidence was critical on whether his police partner, alleged corrupt officer Paul Dale, was involved in organising the burglary of a Tony Mokbel-linked drug house in Oakleigh in September, 2003, leading to all three men to be charged.

At the time, Nicola Gobbo — Lawyer X — gave Hodson legal advice over the burglary and was Mokbel’s lawyer.

She also represented a man who controlled the Mokbel drug house and was also regularly seeing Dale, to whom she gave legal advice and put in contact with gangland boss Carl Williams.

“I want to see David Miechel subpoenaed to the royal commission in regards to Nicola Gobbo,’’ Ms Komiazyk said.

“He should be made accountable … he was privy to discussions between Paul Dale and dad in the aftermath (of the burglary).

Terence Hodson and his wife Christine Hodson were killed in their Kew home.

“My gut tells me he knows what happened. He’s now disappeared into the underground. I want to know what occurred. He is a crucial part of the murder of mum and dad.’’

Miechel and Hodson were caught minutes after they committed the burglary in Oakleigh, which resulted in Hodson making statements to ethical standards police implicating his handlers, Miechel and Dale.

He was preparing to give evidence against them before his murder.

Dale was not near the burglary scene on the night but visited Miechel in hospital after his arrest.

The case against Dale collapsed after Hodson’s murder, with which he was charged in 2009.

The following year Dale’s murder charge was withdrawn after Carl Williams’ jailhouse killing. After Hodson’s death, his police informer file, taken from the drug squad offices, was leaked to the underworld.
