Comancheros accuse cops of trying generate to bad blood between jailed bikies

Bikies claim police are working to generate bad blood between Comanchero members in prison to “break people and turn the club upside down”.

Police have denied trying to cultivate a split between Comanchero bikies charged over the ANOM app investigation.

One gang member believes he and a clubmate have been intentionally separated from alleged enforcer Christian Taumoefolau, who is facing charges of trafficking a large commercial quantity of border controlled drugs, to seed disharmony.

Comancheros Luke Jolly-Bishop and Joshua Brennan, who are also remanded on high-level drug charges, are being kept apart from Taumoefolau in the Charlotte management unit of Port Phillip Prison.

The Australian Federal Police spent months spying on messages sent on the encrypted ANOM app as part of the sprawling operation Ironside.

It is alleged that members of the Comancheros and other organised crime figures openly communicated on the platform in the belief it was impregnable.

A source, speaking on behalf of Mr Jolly-Bishop, said there was no ill-will between the PPP Comancheros.

That source, who asked not to be named, said misinformation was being spread to foster disunity, a claim flatly rejected by police.

“(The police) are trying to break people and turn the club upside down,” the source said.

“The information is that Luke and Josh were speaking over the ANOM app about Christian so they have removed Luke and Josh from the yard (because of) fears of sparking an internal feud. They have been told they are not allowed near any Comanchero members and will most likely spend their whole remanded period in long term management.”

Taumoefolau, 31, was the Comanchero sergeant-at-arms at the time of his arrest.

He figured prominently, along with president Mick Murray, in a gang run held in the period before the Ironside swoop.

Jolly-Bishop, 27, is charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of a drug of dependence, three counts of trafficking a drug of dependence and possessing the proceeds of crime.

Brennan, 30, faces counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of a drug of dependence, trafficking a drug of dependence, three counts of possessing the proceeds of crime and drug possession.

A spokeswoman for the Echo taskforce denied the claim it was trying to generate bad blood between the bikies.
