Beer lovers will undoubtedly be making out their Christmas wish lists early this year after LG unveiled its new HomeBrew machine which dispenses five types of your favourite beers.

The new product uses pods or capsules, similar to a Keurig or Nespresso coffee machine, which contain malt, hops, oil and flavouring and allows the user to decide if they want an American IPA, stout, Czech pilsner, American Pale Ale or Witbier with the touch of a button.

LG HomeBrew will produce up to five litres of beer; the only catch is that you have to wait two weeks to enjoy it.

There is also a smartphone app that tells you when the beer has finished brewing.

LG partnered with UK-based brewery Muntons to make the capsules, but exactly how much these will cost individually remains unclear.

LG’s Senior VP David Vanderwaal said on stage in the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that the HomeBrew will automatically clean and sanitise itself once you are done brewing.

“We spent more than three years perfecting this brewing process and demanded the right ingredients and sophisticated temperature and pressure,” Mr Vanderwaal said.

“This will now allow you to make your own beer in the comfort of your own home with little more than a simple touch of the button.”

LG’s HomeBrew is expected to be available in Australia in the second half of this year but no release date has been set yet.

It is also unknown at this stage how much the machine will retail for.
