Horror video shows mosquitoes swarming home in flood-ravaged NSW

A terrifying video shows the moment a flood-ravaged farmer looked outside her window to a scene straight out of a horror movie.

A farmer has shared video of thousands of mosquitoes swarming outside her home in Central West NSW after floods ripped through the region.

Wool classer Nicole Fragar was terrified when she walked to the window of her Tottenham home to find a cloud of flying insects buzzing around the front porch.

“Don’t open your mouth. These are mosquitoes. The numbers exploded after floods in central-west NSW,” Ms Fragar captioned the video.

She said the mosquitoes arrived just as the rain subsided following record flooding in the region that had swallowed regional towns.

“This video was taken after four nights of decent rainfall. The mosquitoes came out with a vengeance,” Ms Fragar told Storyful.

While the video looked like a scene out of a horror film, Ms Fragar seemed most concerned for her livestock who were “copping a beating” from the bugs.

“Our new calves need to be given a backline treatment right after they are born to try keep the bulk of mosquitoes off them otherwise they get lethargic from the drop of their red blood cell count,” she said.

“Our working dogs and chooks are also copping a beating from them too.”

People took to the comments section of the video to share their response to the nightmare scene.

“I’m getting itchy just watching that,” one commenter wrote.

“Oh what next!!!!! those poor people,” another user said.

“My literal worse nightmare,” a third said.

“I get annoyed by one mozzie when I’m trying to get to sleep!!” another wrote.
