Brave commuters took on the Manly ferry on Friday as wild weather continued to smash the Harbour City.

Shocking video showed people braving the Manly ferry on Friday resembling a scene from The Perfect Storm rather than the usually sedate trip across the harbour.

In the footage two men get smashed by a huge wave as an enormous body of water breaks over top of the barriers.

Other videos showed Sydney’s iconic Clovelly Beach submerged by white water after being battered by storms.

Social media footage shows the concrete platform, normally packed with hundreds of sunbathers, completely flooded - leaving the beach unrecognisable.

The surprising scenes follows days of grim weather in Sydney.

On Wednesday one person died after freak downpours rocked the Harbour City.

On Friday, wild winds whipped up chaos for many commuters, felling a tree in Hyde Park, injuring two people.

NSW Ambulance paramedics took one person to St Vincent’s Hospital with minor injuries, while the second person was treated at the scene.

Another person was injured on Friday after a corrugated metal roof was blown off a shop and onto a major road.

Strong winds also caused a gum tree to smash into a church and trains were delayed after debris hit tracks.

Multiple cars were trapped underneath the roof, causing closures on Victoria Road – one of the city’s busiest roads – in Drummoyne during peak hour on Friday afternoon.

One person was treated for minor injuries, emergency services responded to the scene at about 5pm on Friday.

Local residents have said the “crazy weather” is “causing havoc”.

Wild winds also caused chaos on the city’s train lines and huge surf off the city’s beaches.

A tree fell onto tracks at St Peters in inner Sydney, blocking the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line and leading to the cancellation of train services.

Transport for NSW has urged commuters to consider using the Metro or bus services where possibly, warning of delays because of other storm-related disruptions.

Several roads were also closed as winds knocked down trees and power lines.

The wild windstorms follow days of severe weather which left at least one person dead after savage storms on Wednesday night.

Another tree fell on power lines and caused a gas leak in West Pymble.

NSW Fire and Rescue have said they are responding to multiple jobs in the wild conditions.

On Wednesday, wild thunderstorms swept across NSW, leaving a man dead after a tree fell on his car in Cowra and damaging properties and crops.

More than 70,000 lightning strikes were recorded across Sydney during Wednesday’s storm.
