Dark web group Shiny Hunters claims to have hacked hundreds of millions of customer details from Ticketmaster and Live Nation.
The group is trying to sell the information for $US500,000 on the dark web, which they say includes 1.3 terabytes of customer data.
It is not yet known if Australians are caught up in the data breach but the group alleges it has the details of 560 million people.
The group claimed to have stolen names, addresses, contact details, credit card information, ticket orders, credit card details and fraud information.
If the information is breached, it could cause enormous problems for those people caught up in the hack, including financial fraud and identity theft.
Ticketmaster is a subsidiary of Live Nation, operating in 32 countries around the world.
It has more than five million customers in Australia and New Zealand alone.
Shiny Hunters is a group that has been responsible for high-profile data breaches and is the owner of Breach Forums, a platform for known for cybercrime activities, according to HackRead.com.
The FBI tried to shutdown the forum, but Shiny Hunters were able to reclaim the domain, evading law enforcement.
Recently, the US Department of Justice filed an antitrust lawsuit to break up an alleged monopoly in the live music industry between concert promoter Live Nation Entertainment and Ticketmaster.
News Corp reported the lawsuit claimed Live Nation abused its dominant market position to raise ticket fees, squeeze out competitors and limit choices for fans, venues and artists.
US Attorney-General Merrick Garland said Live Nation relied on unlawful, anticompetitive conduct to exercise its monopolistic control over the live events industry in the US at the cost of fans, artists, smaller promoters and venue operators.
“It is time to break up Live Nation,” he said.
NewsWire is seeking comment from Ticketmaster.
