Pokemon Go has led to an increase in traffic across a number of different platforms

THIS graph shows us a very interesting find in relation to Pokemon Go, but it is only one of the many statistics discovered since the game’s release.

ONE thing has become apparent over the past week and that is Pokemon Go is gaining some serious momentum.

Since its launch, people have gone bonkers over the franchise with eBay showing Aussies have spent more than $A127,000 on Pokemon products in the past seven days.

The online retailer also said battery packs for smartphones had been trending since the launch of Pokemon Go.

Spotify has also seen the influence of the game, with streams of the Pokemon theme ‘Gotta Catch ‘Em All’ increasing 362 per cent globally in the past week.

Additionally, overall streams of Pokemon songs on Spotify have more than tripled.

However, the best statistic from the game comes from the fact Pokemon Go uses the metric system as its form of measurement.

This means there has been a massive surge of confused Americans using Google to find out how many miles are in a kilometre.

In addition to outside sources, the game itself has been responsible for some interesting statistics.

As you can see, there has been a huge spike in the search over the past week.

Similar to other free mobile games, Pokemon Go offers in-app purchases, which are already started to be lucrative.

App store optimisation firm Sensor Tower estimates $A2.1 million per day on iOS devices alone.

Superdata Research estimates $A18.4 million of revenue in the first week, which equates to $A3.2 million daily from both Android and iOS devices.

App analytics firm App Annie also suggested similar numbers.

“Even though Pokemon Go is only officially open in three countries, the game is generating well over $1 million of net revenue for Niantic Labs,” the company wrote in an email toInverse.

Macquarie research analyst David Gibson said this revenue was divided among several interested parties.

“It is unclear exactly what [Niantic’s] economic interest is in the game, but we presume that out of every 100 units earned at the app store, 30 would go to Apple [or Google], 30 to Niantic, 30 to Pokemon and 10 to Nintendo,” he wrote in a report.

If these are correct it would mean that Apple and Google stand to make more money from the craze than Nintendo, which is strange considering it created the franchise.
