APPLE has apologised to the group of African teens who were filmed being ejected from a Melbourne Apple store in a video that has gone viral.

In the video, a staff member from the Melbourne Highpoint store denies entry to the school students because of concerns they “might steal something”.

Many comments on social media yesterday described the actions of the Apple staff as racial profiling and racist.

Apple today issued a statement about the incident which came to light yesterday.

“Inclusion and diversity are among Apple’s core values,” the statement said.

“We believe in equality for everyone, regardless of race, age, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. That applies throughout our company, around the world with no exceptions.

“We’ve looked into the details of the situation and we apologise to the customers involved. We will continue to do everything in our power to ensure all our customers are treated the way they should be.”
