THE half-pipe final featuring Australian Scotty James up against America’s Shaun White suffered a delay of several minutes following a crash involving the Japanese competitor.
Yuto Totsuka had just begun his second run when he clipped the lip of the pipe on the way down, copping the brunt of the force on his tailbone.

The 16-year-old was unable to get to his feet and was immediately attended to by the medical team.
The event was stopped for several minutes and the stretcher was brought down to take him off the course.
Taken to hospital Japanese officials reportedly described that Totsuka’s injury wasn’t serious and was suffering from pain in his hip.
