THE Golden State Warriors’ new $US70 million man Klay Thompson thinks his Australian centre Andrew Bogut deserves some of his cash.

Thompson, a 24-year-old Los Angeles-born shooting guard, signed a four-year, $US70 million ($A76 million) extension with his NBA team last week.

Thompson, averaging 27 points a game including 41 against the Lakers on Saturday, has shown the Warriors he is worth it.

But Thompson says his much of his success has come from Bogut’s passing skills.

“I can’t describe how good his passing is,” Thompson told San Francisco radio station KNBR on Thursday.

“He gets me so many good looks every night.

“I should give a percentage of my contract to him now.”

New Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr has made Bogut a central point in the Warriors’ potent offence, with the ball regularly going through the 213cm tall Melbourne-born centre’s hands on plays.

Bogut doesn’t really need Thompson’s cash.

He signed a three-year, $US36 million ($A39 million) contract extension last year that, with incentives, could be worth up to about $US42 million ($A45 million).
