UFC star tears 'communist' Australia to shreds

American UFC star Sean Strickland has taken aim at Australia in his latest unhinged press conference.

The former middleweight champion is in Sydney ahead of his title showdown with current champ Dricus du Plessis at UFC 312 on Sunday (AEDT).

The controversial 33-year-old has never been afraid of speaking his mind and on Wednesday he delivered a foul-mouthed tirade.

Strickland took aim at the Australian government for stripping away peoples freedom and becoming “communist” while also slamming the country’s ban on weapons in the wake of the Port Arthur Massacre.

“You guys have got a lot of cameras here – red light cameras, cell phone cameras, seatbelt cameras, speed cameras,” Strickland said.

“How do you get a blowjob while you drive? Do you get a ticket for that, is there that kind of camera.

“It’s real f***ing communist here.

“But it’s a really beautiful country, I would consider Australians as English white trash. Some Irish too, you know they sent the lot here.

“As an American white trash I feel like I have a lot in common with you f***ers.”

“You had one mass shooting and gave up all your guns, that was kind of pathetic,” he said, referencing Australia’s introduction of gun laws after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996.

“It’s the lack of freedom, dude.

“How insane is it that we’re in a modern country and hate speech is a thing?

“It’s so f***ing wild you could make fun of Covid and the next thing you know, the government’s kicking down your door and hauling off a pregnant lady.

“I can’t even say transformers the correct way without me potentially getting my visa revoked.

“We’re in a modern country with running water and you guys know, it’s real bad … real f***ing bad, dude.”

Strickland will look to exact his revenge over du Plessis after he lost via split decision during their first fight in January last year.

Asked what went wrong during their first bout, the American stopped the journalist short from finishing his question.

“Let me stop you right now guys,” Strickland said.

“That only happened because the dirty f***ing Dutchman hit me with a headbutt.

“You know how hard it is when you’ve got that much blood running through your eyes?

“It would have been an easy fight if it wasn’t for that.”

Du Plessis will put his middleweight belt on the line when the UFC 312 card hits Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday.

The main card is set to get underway from 2pm (AEDT).
