Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has confronted a thief on the streets of Paris after his wife’s bag was snatched.

The 45-year-old Hall of Famer had a storied career in the UFC, becoming the first British champion in the promotion’s history when he defeated Luke Rockhold in UFC 199 to claim the middleweight crown.

After one defence, he lost his crown at UFC 217 to Georges St-Pierre, fighting only once more before retiring in 2017 with a 30-9 career MMA record after 29 fights in the UFC.

In 2019 he was elevated to the UFC Hall of Fame.

With all that being said, he’s not the kind of guy you’d like to see barrelling after you if you’d stolen his wife’s bag.

After his career, Bisping has become a UFC commentator and actor and was in France as a commentator for UFC Fight Night: Moicano Vs Saint-Denis.

But while making the most of being in France with some sightseeing with his Australian wife of 10 years Rebecca, Bisping revealed his wife had been the victim of a thief, who had snatched her bag while the pair was having breakfast.

In a video posted on X, Bisping revealed he’d chased the thief down and given him a piece of his mind.

“I’m here at the world-famous Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles having a little walk around,” Bisping said. “But earlier today, I had to stop a crime.

“Sitting there having breakfast with Rebecca in the streets of Montmartre and some little s**t snatches Rebecca’s bag, runs away.”

Bisping said he’d given chase before getting his hands on the criminal.

“I get a hold of him, he had the bag already hidden like a towel,” he said.

“Got the bag off him, he didn’t speak a word of English obviously. Didn’t do anything to him, got the bag back. He was s**tting his pants, poor guy.

“Anyway, I let him go, turned around, boom, just gave him a nice kick up the a*** — little s**t.

“Anyway, got the bag back, all’s good.”

Bisping met his Australian bride in Manchester before getting engaged in 2008. They finally married in 2014.

The couple have three children together with eldest son Callum currently a Division II college wrestler out of San Francisco State University.
