As the countdown is on for the pending arrival of the 2019 Tour Down Under’s biggest drawcard, Sagan posted a neat video on Twitter showing off his snow skiing skills at hair-raising speed which may have had his BORA-hansgrohe sports director on edge.
The Slovakian three-time UCI world champion ended 2018 in freezing conditions in the European alps pointing out that he will soon be in the middle of the SA summer heat probably sometime next week.
“Happy new year everybody! See you at a race next year, starting at the @tourdownunder, where it will certainly be warmer than the snowed mountains …” Sagan posted on Twitter New Year’s Eve.
The long range weather forecast predicts temperatures will hover around the 30C mark when Sagan arrives.

He followed that skiing Twitter post up with a shower scene tweet with his BORA-hansgrohe teammates wishing his 891,000 followers a Happy New Year in a myriad of languages.
“Prosit Neujahr! | Happy New Year | Felice Anno Nuovo | Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku | Šťastný Nový rok,’’ he tweeted.
Having won the points classification at the 2018 Tour Down Under Sagan’s most impressive victory last year was the Paris-Roubaix crown.
