PORT Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley is staying firm with his unchanged line-up for Saturday’s AFL preliminary final against Hawthorn after defender Tom Jonas proved his fitness at training at Alberton this morning.

Jonas, who was subbed out at half-time of the semi-final win against Fremantle at Subiaco Oval with a corked hip, will be part of the Power back six that faces a daunting challenge against Hawthorn’s All-Australian loaded attack.

And Hinkley says he has no reason to rethink his line-up in reaction to Hawthorn’s selections which do not include the return of dangerous small forward Cyril Rioli from a hamstring tear. He will play in the VFL this weekend.

“We are really comfortable — we are backing our blokes and our players,” Hinkley said as he takes an unchanged line-up into a final for the third consecutive week. “You don’t want to get lost in what Hawthorn might or might not do.

“I have been comfortable with Tom all week.”

Hinkley explained his decision to keep the Power squad at Alberton at training — rather than take up an option to run on the MCG — was based on keeping the same routine.
