If you’re in a SuperCoach Draft keeper league, there’s a future SuperCoach star building nicely this season. Plus four other players to target in the Round 7 waiver period.
Tim English (WB), Ruck
Three-round average: 97
If you’re in a keeper league and English is available, put that waiver request in now. After scores of 99 and 90 in the previous two weeks, the 21-year-old posted the first SuperCoach ton of his career against the Tigers. While he’s unlikely to average three-figures this season, English, who is almost the best big man in the league below his knees, is a star of the future.
George Hewett (Syd), Mid
Three-round average: 112
If you’ve got an injury in the midfield, the Sydney midfielder, who’s been winning plenty of his own football while keeping an eye on the best opposition midfielder at stoppages, could be your man. He’s not going to post a score of 154, as he did against the Lions, but three other scores of 84 or more this season shows he’s decent cover with a high ceiling.
Hayden Crozier (WB), Def
Three-round average: 99
With the rise of Caleb Daniel and the return of Jason Johannisen, there’s plenty of ball-winners in the Bulldogs’ defence. But Crozier, the former Docker, has proved he, too, can be a big SuperCoach scorer. Crozier, who posted seven scores of 95 or more in his final 10 games of last year, tallied 28 disposals, nine marks and 134 points in Round 7.
Cam Ellis-Yolmen (Adel), Mid
Three-round average: 95
The big-bodied midfielder recorded an equal-team-high 15 contested possessions — more than both Crouch brothers — against the Dockers on Sunday. And, more importantly, Ellis-Yolmen, who has posted SuperCoach tons in two of his past three games, has cemented his spot in the Adelaide side for the short term.
Nick Haynes (GWS), Def
Three-round average: 97
While Haynes’ SuperCoach scoring may be a little inconsistent, he can score well on his day. The 26-year-old Giant, who passed the 90-point mark on seven occasions last season, was outstanding against the Saints, recording his second SuperCoach ton of the year, on the back of 26 disposals and nine marks. One for the bench.
