TENNIS fans have slammed Channel 7 for their coverage of Friday night’s semi-final between Roger Federer and Hyeon Chung.

The host broadcaster for the Australian Open has been criticised during the tournament for missing games and that was the case again for the crucial semi-final.

Federer was serving in the opening game of the second set and held to love but fans watching from home would have no idea about that as it wasn’t shown in favour of advertising.

The broadcast has also been slammed for interviews with Australian sports start, specifically AFL players, while there is live action happening inside Rod Laver Arena.

During the Federer match it showed an interview with former Sydney Swans star Adam Goodes.

It’s not the first time Channel 7 has copped heat for its coverage, with missing games in favour of ads or updates from around the courts being given priority over live action.
