Women’s Football World Cup 2019: Matildas skipper Sam Kerr provided headphones for every Aussie player

Sam Kerr showered the Matildas players with a unique gift at their first World Cup team dinner. And if that wasn’t enough Chloe Logarzo made a big splash with her contribution.

If the Matildas emerge from the team bus at Stade de la Mosson on Friday morning (EST) wearing matching headphones, you can thank Sam Kerr.

And in the highly unlikely scenario they pair them with a pair of swimmers, that’s courtesy of Chloe Logarzo.

Team dinner inside the Australian camp at the Women’s World Cup might never have been more fruitful than the first night in Montpellier, where surprise gifts awaited players at the table.

Kerr, through her copious connections that come with being one of the world’s biggest football stars, organised ahead of time to have Beats By Dre headphones delivered to every squad member.

On the same night, fellow forward Logarzo presented her own gift, a load of pre-ordered Budgy Smuggler bathers (the female variety).

When the girls will have a chance to use them during the tournament in France is another matter, though they could potentially work for post-match ice baths.

That Matildas are nestled away in a private hotel some 20 minutes out of Montpellier proper and any distractions as they prepare for their second, must-win group game against Brazil.

They will have support from Socceroos coach Graham Arnold, who flew to France directly from Busan following last week’s friendly 1-0 friendly loss to South Korea.

Joining him will be Socceroos captain Mark Milligan, who is bringing his eldest two daughters.

“I expect they’ll have a great game against Brazil,” Arnold said.

“When you lose, you learn, and I’m sure Ante and the girls learnt a lot.

“I was there yesterday at training and if I had a training session like that two days before the game I’d be delighted.”
