OWNER DEBBIE KEPITIS ON HOW WINX CHANGED HER LIFE
Working from the 1200m point and peaking over the final 400m at Flemington, Winx delighted Waller as she attempts to become the first horse in history to snare four Cox Plates.
“She was good,” Waller smiled.
“This morning was her main piece of work before next Saturday and it was good just to do it pretty much in private without having to worry about things.
“It was just me, Hughie and the horse and the Umut (Odemislioglu) the strapper.”
Pressed on how strongly Winx galloped before her expected appearance with Breakfast with Best at The Valley on Tuesday, Waller said: “It’s as good as she’s ever gone.
“She was a long way out on the course proper so unless you’ve got accurate data points, the times are pretty irrelevant.
“But, to me, she looked as good as ever.”
