Last week ... Six winners. Our Adelaide experts Ben Scadden and Lincoln Moore led the way with Money Spinner ($2.70) and Skillful Steps ($2.70) respectively. Chris Vernuccio and Stephen Zammit, fresh from a spell, nailed a win with Kementari ($2.40), but Michael Manley landed the best return with his value bet Demonstrate ($7.60) winning the opener at Flemington. Nick Quinn (Kings Will Dream, $1.80) and Shayne O’Cass (Estijaab, $1.40) stuck with the shorties.

ROSEHILL GARDENS
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegragh) Form: 05112
SPRIGHTLY LASS (Race 5, No.12 — TAB $4.80)
Very fast mare with loads of ability and can cope with the sharp rise in class.
Value bet: EGG TART (Race 7, No. 7 — $5.50)
MATT JONES (Daily Telegragh) Form: 21126
LIBRAN (Race 2, No. 2 — $3.60)
Libran has a great second-up record and the 2000m is perfect for him now.
Value bet: HEAVENS ABOVE (Race 7, No.4 — $19)
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegragh) Form: 644x1
LIBRAN (Race 2, No. 2 — $3.60)
From the leading yard of Chris Waller, the gelding resumed with a strong fourth behind Winx over 1600m at Randwick on March 3. Much fitter now, the distance will suit and he always races well second-up. Big threat.
Value bet: HIEROGLYPHICS (Race 5, No. 5 — $9.50)
JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegragh) Form: 12102
LEVEL EIGHT (Race 9, No. 12 — $16)
Should change his name to “Mr Consistency” — such is his superb record over this distance range. Only missed a pay cheque once in 14 attempts. Stands out.
Value bet: NIETA (Race 5, No. 2 — $3.10)
BRAD DAVIDSON (Sky Racing). Form: 3808F
LIFE LESS ORDINARY (Race 8, No. 8 — $10)
I know he is a middle-distance horse but his fresh record is really good. He has trialled superbly and I think he is a great each-way gamble.
Value bet: SPIN (Race 4, No. 5 — $5.50)
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 25611
LIBRAN (Race 2, No. 2 — $3.60)
He is on his way to a third Sydney Cup and produced a cracking first-up beind Winx in the Chipping Norton Stakes. He is 7s 4-1-0 at the trip and five starts, three wins second-up.
Value bet: LILITH (Race 3, No. 7 — $16)
DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 28163
LIBRAN (Race 2, No. 2 — $3.60)
Has returned in great nick going by his fourth to Winx in the Chipping Norton. His record is even better second up.
Value bet: BRING ME ROSES (Race 7, No. 15 — $12)
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 12111
WRITTEN BY (Race 4, No. 1 — $1.95)
Blue Diamond winner who should have little trouble extending his unbeaten streak to four on route to the Golden Slipper next Saturday. A good opportunity for punters to double their cash.
Value bet: ADDISON (Flemington Race 6, No. 7 — $9)
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
FLEMINGTON
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 54152
TOSEN STARDOM (Race 5, No. 1 — $2.20)
Massive run last start in the Futurity Stakes when beaten by his stablemate Brave Smash, who subsequently ran second in the Newmarket. He should get a great run behind Hellova Street and this looks his race.
Value bet: HIGHLAND BEAT (Race 9, No. 7 — $8.50)
SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 570x0
HE EKSCELS (Race 6, No. 4 — $5)
Continues to make progress and made it two in a row when successful at Sale. If he can maintain form, looks a real threat again.
Value bet: TARDIS (Race 3, No. 10 — $34)
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 57111
SCARECROW (Race 2, No. 2 — $3.30)
His win at the track and distance last start was very strong and there’s no reason why he can’t notch another here. Even though he goes up 3.5kg, he should get the race shape in his favour again.
Value bet: DIXIE BLOSSOMS (Randwick, Race 7, No. 1 — $6.50)
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
GOLD COAST
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: x2127
CAPETOWN HUSSEY (Race 5, No. 6 — $3.80)
Two runs back have been excellent and now gets to a track and trip where she was successful at last preparation. Should be spot on now and staying down on the limit gives her every chance. No dramas regardless of what condition the track comes up.
Value bet: WACK’EM (Race 2, No. 11 — $15)
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
MORPHETTVILLE PARKS
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser) Form: 131x1
DESPATCH (Race 9, No. 5 — $2.90)
He’s first-up for more than a year and taking on older horses but has tons of natural talent. Won the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic on debut and was a dominant Gawler trial winner a week ago. Expect his class to prove telling with Jamie Kah in the saddle.
Value bet: CHEVITE (Race 3, No. 1 — $19)
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser) Form: 11x31
SILENT WARRIOR (Race 1, No. 3 — $2.50)
Handy type on his day who looks ready for the rise to the 1950. Daktari formline looks pretty solid and he should take some beating.
Value bet: REVLIS (Race 5, No. 5 — $7.50)
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
