Tried very hard when a close second to seasoned veteran Floral Insight at Warwick Farm. Redzel is back to racing against his own age, Hugh Bowman stays on, and he the firm track will suit. He is ready to win.

Looks a two-horse race between him and Defcon and the latter has had his prep changed. With respect to this, the $1.75 out there for Astern is probably overs.

What a great mare this is. She’s had 37 starts for 16 wins and 13 placings, including nine victories at the Rosehill track. She has won seven times when resuming and won’t have any trouble disposing of this field.

Has been scratched twice because of dud draws over the past month in the city but has been flying in private track work. Gets in on the limit and only needs one to drop out to gain a start. Makes strong appeal.

For what it is worth, I have him and Capitalist level pegging this far out from the world’s richest 2YO race. Astern was incredibly impressive on debut winning at Randwick. His trial win the other day at WF was as good as it gets. I can’t possible go against him in this field. You might also want to back to him to win the Golden Slipper because if he wins this, he’ll be a lot shorter.

Star colt returns after blitzing the field in the Caulfuield Guineas in the spring. Wasn’t pressured in two trials to prepare for return. The Chris Waller-High Bowman combination are lethal when the big races roll around and this bloke will be right among the action.

Lost it in the stewards’ room last time, but can atone here in similar class race. Stable is going well and he is set to get all the favours off the inside.

Was scratched recently after having a slight temperature — but back to full health and will be simply too good for these. Will lead them a merry dance upfront and nothing will get close

She missed a run two weeks back due to a slight temperature but her form before that was outstanding. She has lengths on these class wise and she should shoot straight to the front and prove far too good for her rivals. Quick Ketch also looks hard to beat in race five and he is a beauty because he can win on wet or dry. I’ve rated him $2.50 so the $3.60 on offer appears to be generous.

Talented mare who’s returned to racing in good style with a couple of close-up efforts including last start when she was less than two lengths off extra-smart types Swinging Arms and Dylanson. This is a significant drop in class and her 60kg topweight is offset by 2kg claim for Josh Cartwright.
