Danny Russell (Herald Sun)
Bendigo
BANKER
TIVACI
(Race 8, No. 2)
Forget Australian Guineas run when took control of rider, bolted forward and punctured late. Go on two starts back when beat Palentino on protest over 1400m.
IN THE FRAME
KING’S COMMAND
(Race 2, No. 3)
Freshened up after beating a smart Flemington field. Tough to beat if he finds cover.
RISK
The Moonee Valley track on Friday night. Issues with a root disease and overnight rain sees it rated a soft 6. Late scratchings already affecting meeting.
JOCKEY
With the state’s best riders headed to Sydney, Katelyn Mallyon can chalk up some winners. Best chances at Bendigo are Creativity and Written.
STABLE
Caulfield trainer Mick Price has the two favourites in the Golden Slipper — Extreme Choice and Flying Artie — and his Derby winner Tarzino will start favourite in the Rosehill Guineas. At Bendigo watch his first starter Princess of Queens and smart mare Samartested.

Rosehill
BANKER
LIBRAN
(Race 2, No. 4)
Peaked (for now) third-up when finally on the end of a good temp taking out the Randwick City Stakes. Steps up to 2400m on Saturday in the Manion and his way to potential Sydney Cup glory. Onwards and upwards folks.
RISK
WINX
(Race 5, No. 5)
Yes, it’s true Winx. This is her big test this prep and while I concede, she’s flying — there are at least two dangers, Kermadec and Turn Me Loose and then there is Press Statement. If you are a small punter, like this writer, you can’t be winning on Winx anyway.
IN THE FRAME
ASTERN
(Race 7, No. 5)
Has barrier 17 of 17, he’ll jump from 16 of 16 which is still the same raw deal. Put it this way, if he gets even luck, he can still beat them. He’s a machine and he’s extraordinary odds; to think he’s double figures? Crazy!
STABLE
Mick Price deserves this spot if only because he could win the Rosehill Guineas and Golden Slipper within 45 mins. He’s got 2 in the Slipper and fair dinkum, Tarzino looks over the line doesn’t he?
JOCKEY
Blake Shinn can take his time getting to Rosehill on Saturday, strangely he doesn’t have a ride in the first three races but then it’s non-stop — Dibayani in the Ranvet, First Seal in the Ryder, Montaigne in the Guineas and the one-time pre-post Golden Slipper favourite Capitalist.

Ben Scadden (Adelaide Advertiser)
Morphettville
THE BANKER
NEAPOLITAN (Race 4, No 1)
Smart filly from the Phillip Stokes barn who proved much too good at Morphettville last time. Expect her to take some improvement out of that run and should be too good at flip-of-the-coin odds.
IN THE FRAME
MULLINGER LANE (Race 6, No 1)
Consistent type with excellent first-up record. Only meeting an ordinary group here and proven he can carry weight in the past. The 1.5kg claim for apprentice Josh Cartwright helps, too.
THE RISK
HUSSON’S SHOUT (Race 3, No 4)
He’s been tipped on top by most experts — but that has largely been by default because he’s facing a field lacking depth. He’s only been fair at past few starts and hard to get enthused at his current $1.55 quote.
TRAINER
Phillip Stokes is the trainer everyone thinks of when talking about Adelaide racing — and for good reason. He’s a tearaway leader in the trainers’ premiership and can extend that advantage on Saturday with the favourite in three races (Neapolitan, Comprende and Husson’s Shout), as well as smart filly Ask Me How I Know, who’s also among the main chances in Race 7.
JOCKEY
Apprentice Josh Cartwright has been riding in good form and has another solid book of rides on Saturday. His best chances appear to be Captain Mirage (race 2), Rooboy (race 3), Neapolitan (race 4), Comprende (race 5) and Mullinger Lane (race 6).

Nathan Exelby (The Courier Mail)
Doomben
BANKER
KAISER FRANZ (Race 2, No. 3)
Is no star, but he’s been knocking on the door in this grade for a while now without having any luck. No harder tomorrow and with Damian Browne to steer him clear of trouble, he can get the job done.
IN THE FRAME
DECONSTRUCTED(Race 6, No. 7)
Never got into the race first up and think it’s best to overlook the margin. Now goes to 1350m, which will suit far better and off the good gate, he can be closer in the run and ready to pounce.
RISK
KALANDULA (Race 6, No. 12)
Comes up favourite or near enough to it and figures high on most rating scales. But she doesn’t win out of turn and strikes a couple of promising ones here.
TRAINER
John Zielke shoots for four 2YO Saturday wins on end with Stryking Stunnah (Race 1) after completing the hat-trick last week. They have come with different horses and this one aims to be the fourth. Strikes an easier race this time.
JOCKEY
Damian Browne has a ripper book on paper and rarely does he not turn that into some sort of a return for punters.
