BRAD Rawiller will miss riding Black Heart Bart in Saturday week’s Makybe Diva Stakes after his appeal against the severity of a seven meeting suspension was dismissed by the Racing And Appeals Disciplinary Board on Tuesday.

Rawiller pleaded with the RAD Board to reduce his suspension by a meeting so he could retain the ride on Memsie Stakes winner Black Heart Bart but that fell on deaf ears. Rawiller returns to race riding on Sunday week.

Damien Oliver will ride Black Heart Bart in the Makybe Diva Stakes and Rawiller is fearful that he may not get back on the horse.

Rawiller tweeted on Tuesday: “Great day Saturday! Bad few days after. Time to make a negative a positive and train my arse off and return with my weight fully controlled.”

Rawiller is serving back to back suspensions and will also miss riding Tosen Stardom in Saturday’s Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Rawiller had his first suspension arising from last Wednesday reduced from 10 meetings to seven but his appeal against his seven meeting suspension after being found guilty of careless riding on Black Heart Bart stands.

Weir said Oliver would ride Black Heart Bart on Saturday week but didn’t know who would ride Tosen Stardom this weekend.

Another of the Weir’s regular jockeys, Dean Yendall, will also be unavailable after he lost his appeal against the severity of an 11-meeting suspension at Echuca last week to the RAD Board on Tuesday. He will resume riding on Monday.

Weir was happy with the work of several of his stable stars at Mortlake on Tuesday morning.

“Tosen Stardom worked with Real Love and both worked well this morning,” the trainer said of the former Japanese stayer. “He’s a hard horse to get a line on though.”

Weir will accept with Tosen Stardom, Signoff, Mahuta and Real Love in the Dato Tan Chim Nam Stakes. Weir said Mahuta pulled up well after he finished third in the Memsie Stakes.

“It should suit him backing up. The rail will be out three metres which tends to play a bit leaderish which will suit,” he said.

Weir said John Allen would retain the mount. “After last Saturday John wished he had of come out a bit sooner on him. I’m not sure whether that would have made much of a difference as to whether he would have finished second or not.”
