HOT TIPS: WEEKEND BEST BETS

FLEMINGTON

DARLY TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 4026x

BARCODE

Race 7, No. 5

Very consistent gelding going through the grades and can measure up here.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.60

MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 1845x

SINO EAGLE

Race 9, No. 5

Resumed with close-up fourth in similar field at Moonee Valley. Meets rivals better on weights with two kilos claim for Regan Bayliss and is a winner this track and distance. $5.50 looks nice each-way value.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5

ROD NICHOLSON (Herald Sun). Form: 4763F

VOSTOK
Race 5, No. 8

We won’t get the $17 and $15 this time, but he’s promising and unbeaten so we’ll go again.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.80

DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun). Form: 10528

GOLDEN MANE

Race 3, No. 5

Gate 2, Dylan Dunn’s 3kg claim and crying out for the 2000m. Lindsay Park confident he can win.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.80

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 45541

WHISTLE BABY

Race 9, No. 2

Returned from a spell with a strong win at Moonee Valley and returns to Flemignton where she is a two-time winner.qu

Distance specialist and each-way bet.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6

SIMON MOY (Superracing) Form: 11x26

TARANGOWER

Race 3, No. 3

Just couldn’t quite get the job done last start when second behind Lucques at Sandown Hillside. Gets chance here to go one better. Solid chance.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Superracing). Form: 20524

HELLBOUND

Race 1, No. 3

Backing two years olds has its degree of risk, but this colt has impressed in his jumpouts and trainer Mick Price says it’s his best chance for the day.

ROSEHILL GARDENS

STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 91000

DANCE OF HEROES

Race 8, No. 3

I am expecting this Chris Waller-trained gelding to appreciate the 1900m here after being switched back to a shorter trip for a close up 5th at Randwick last week. Almost double odds at present and that really appeals, especially on an each-way basis.

TAB Fixed Odds: $10

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 49027

MAKE A MARK

Race 7, No. 8

Resumes here today off the back of a handy 2.6 lens 3rd (of 6) to Liberty’s Choice in 900m Rosehill trial on December 8. Locally prepared and Tommy Berry engagement is a positive sign.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20

SHAYNE O’CASS (The Sportsman). Form: 29868

MORE THAN FABULOUS

Race 5, No. 10

Has only won 1 from 16 but he has 9 placings and I find him to be very, very honest. His last two have been his best two for a while, namely that 0.3-lens 3rd to rival So Willie and Wednesday’s Canterbury winner Classic Uniform. On Dec 11, More Than Fabulous was hitting the line with his usual gusto when 1-lens 3rd to Stampede under lights; the winner is pretty handy we all agree. Back from 1900 to 1500m is no worry for me.

TAB Fixed Odds: $18

DOOMBEN

NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier Mail) Form: 0035x

HESITATION

Race 4, No. 7

Awesome win in super fast time two starts back then a touch flat when gunned down against older mares last time. This is tougher again, but banking on her last start being a flat one off the previous one and early $10 with UBET seems unlikely to be around come start time.

TAB Fixed Odds: $9

BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 42168

HONEY HOLT

Race 4 No. 9

Think the bookmakers have got it wrong here and the $10 on offer about Honey Holt seems a good price. Beat Hesitation comfortably last start despite the fact the race was run to suit that galloper. The $10 each-way looks a good bet.

TAB Fixed Odds: $10

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS

LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: x6218

MARTIAN

Race 4, No. 5

This horse is bursting to break through and gets in very well at the weights.

The $4.20 on UBET looks worth grabbing if he can race forward and control the race like last time when runner-up.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.40
