HOT TIPS: WEEKEND BEST BETS
GOLD COAST
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 04011
BEATNIKS
Race 5, No. 7
Some query on her coming back to 1200m, as she will be looking for further soon enough, but arrives 35 days between runs and obviously been set for this stakes tilt. Her two runs this time in rate highly for this and from the good gate, with assured speed, she gets the chance to finish off hard.
TAB Fixed Odds: $11
BEN DORRIES (The Courier-Mail). Form: 710x0
IT’S SOMEWHAT
Race 7, No. 7
The each-way bet of the YEAR. Absolutely ridiculous odds at $12 or better in the Hollindale. Beat the Hollindale fave (Godolphin stablemate Hauraki) home last start and has a racing pattern which looks perfectly suited to the Gold Coast. Jockey Damian Browne, a good judge, is sure he is on Godolphin’s best Hollindale hope. Be staggered if doesn’t run a huge race and you can’t go wrong each way.
TAB Fixed Odds: $12
BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 0136x
MISS COVER GIRL
Race 5, No. 6
I’m happy to back two horses in this race — Miss Cover Girl and Eloping. Leaning slightly towards Miss Cover Girl as the best chance and she was plagued by bad barriers last preparation. Gets the blinkers on here and she should get a lovely run midfield and be right in the finish at juicy odds.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 11227
HOPFGARTEN
Race 6, No. 1
Returned in excellent order with a win over an unsuitable 1200m, and will be better suited over 1400m. Has been mixing his form lately but this race looks to have a long tail.
TAB fixed odds: $4.40
SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 02103
HOPFGARTEN
Race 6, No. 1
Doesn’t have brilliant record at track but returned to form last start on Sunshine Coast. Let’s hope he can finally put a couple of decent runs together. Looks a good price.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.40

MORPHETTVILLE
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 56530
INTO THE MIST
Race 8, No. 10
Showed she was close to her peak with dominant win here in the middle of last month. This is a significant rise in class but she has plenty of quality. Expect leading local hoop Jason Holder to give her a good trip from barrier five and looks terrific each-way value at close to double-figure odds.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 38233
ATLANTIS DREAM
Race 8, No. 1
Came from back in the field to beat let’s Make Adeal in this race last year and her lead-up form has been solid this year. She’s placed at her past three, the latest behind Turnitaround who was a winner at Warrnambool during the week. She has the big weight but also has a touch of class. Looks big value at $17 in early markets.
TAB Fixed Odds: $16

ROSEHILL
NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph). Form: 81021
MR DARCEY
Race 4, No. 7
Tipping big improvement from this guy, who is bred to stay. He finds a race where he can settle handy and get into a nice rhythm, big hope for the each-way punters.
TAB Fixed Odds: $21
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: x6444
ROMANTIC MAID
Race 4, No. 9
Hails from New Zealand and was sent out favourite in a Group 2 race last start, only to clip heels and lose her rider. Previous form was very good and there will be money for her on track this week.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6.50
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 30878
PIONEERING
Race 8, No. 5
Pioneering will relish/need a fast tempo up front. She is good fresh and ran good races behind the likes of Selita, Asinara, Denmagic and Sweet Fire at her four runs last prep. Easy trialler at Rosehill on April 26.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 1010x
INISHOWEN

Bit hit and miss but this track and distance suit. Can win.
TAB Fixed Odds: $9
DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun) Form: 18211
DE LITTLE ENGINE
Race 7, No. 2
Two runs in this prep and primed for the 2800m. Has won at track and distance.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.80
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 18763
DANCE WITH FONTEIN
Race 3, No. 4
Ran on nicely last start over 1000m at Flemington behind Miss Vista. Step up to 1200m should suit. $14 looks over the odds.
TAB Fixed Odds: $14
DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 4157x
SHOCKAHOLIC
Race 6, No. 7
Tends to be slow away but will in this if manners have improve.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 10881
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

Corowa visitor who lumped the grand stand to victory last start.
Narrowly beaten in only Victorian start and will be well suited at Flemington.
