TERROR To Love has become the first horse in more than 50 years to snare three NZ Trotting Cups following his mind-boggling win at Addington.

Despite drawing outside nemesis and favourite, Christen Me, Graham Court's son of Western Terror was well backed in the hours leading up to New Zealand's richest harness race.

But after breaking stride early in the two mile, standing start classic, it seemed as though False Step and Indianapolis would remain the Grand Circuit feature's only three-time winners.

That was before a lightning move by seven-time NZ Cup-winning driver, Ricky May, saw Terror To Love circumnavigate the field and find the lead with 800m to run.

From there he simply outstayed his rivals to win by just under a length from Fly Like An Eagle, with Christen Me third and Victorian representative, Caribbean Blaster back in fifth position.
