A Moonee Valley winner should resume with a win at Kilmore while punters would do well to follow Damian Lane when he make the short trip north for five rides.

Herald Sun form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over the Tuesday card at Kilmore
BEST BET
REBEL RACER (Race 8 No. 1 – $2.30)
Rebel Racer was tried as a stayer last time in where he ran well in town during the winter but he finds himself in a winnable first-up assignment at Kilmore. He has plenty of weight but Rebel Racer might just be too good for his rivals.
NEXT BEST
HAI SUN (Race 3, No. 8 – $4.20)
Hai Sun gave a start but hit the line well in heavy ground on debut at Geelong. He’ll be a lot better for that experience and should improve sharply on firmer ground.
FRISSON (Race 4 No. 6 – $2.40)
Frisson is a great chance to give the all-conquering Ellerton / Zahra stable another win in a bumper January. He’s bursting to win a race and Tuesday’s Kilmore assignment looks to be perfect for him.
REDISSENT (Race 5 No. 3 – $2.60)
Redissent drops a couple of grades on his last effort at Flemington where he was never a factor on New Year’s Day behind Hasseltoff. His previous form was excellent and he’s capable of bouncing back at Kilmore.
VALUE BET
FLAMING BEL (Race 6 No. 3 – $13)
Flaming Bel’s best recent form has been on the synthetic tracks but he showed he has returned in good order after a spell with his effort when not beaten too far at Echuca. His second-up record is solid and he could bob up at odds.
THE JOCKEY
DAMIAN LANE
The star jockey will make the short trip north to Kilmore on Tuesday for five rides, including a couple of short-priced favourites, in what could be a productive day for the Caulfield Cup-winning jockey.
FORLIAH (Race 1 No. 6, $2.40), ALBANIAN EAGLE (Race 2 No. 11, $17), TESORINA (Race 3 No. 10, $3.30), MISTA SIZZLE (Race 4 No. 8 $5.50), VAPID (Race 8 No. 7, $3.50).
THE WEEK AHEAD
Yarra Valley will hold a day meeting on Wednesday before Caulfield takes over in the twilight. Ararat races in the day with Pakenham hosting the night card. Racing returns to The Valley on Friday night after a day card at Geelong. Flemington will again host Saturday’s Melbourne meeting while the Camperdown Cup fixture will be on out west.
