BEST BET
CREDIBLE WITNESS (Race 5, No.6 – $5)
Pushed forward and didn’t see out the 1400m at Wodonga but better suited back 1200m on Thursday. Likely to go forward again and be hard to run down in a slightly weaker race.
NEXT BEST
VIBRANT GLIDER (Race 1, No.6 – $3.80)
Sprinted well from midfield when a solid second first-up at Pakenham last month and will have improved on that run. Should get the perfect run from barrier three.
FRANKIE BLUE EYES (Race 3, No.3 – $5)
Frankie Blue Eyes has a tough gate but he has the quality to overcome it second-up at Pakenham. He worked forward when resuming at Cranbourne and wasn’t disgraced in a much stronger maiden. Expect to go close on Thursday.
DEEP MIRROR (Race 7 No. 11 – $6.50)
Resumes here after a solid winter two-year-old campaign. She closed well at big odds first-up last time in and was competitive in town on soft ground last time in. She’s drawn well and worth following fresh.
VALUE BET
UNLIMITED ABILITY (Race 6, No. 6 – $11)
Unlimited Ability has only won a couple of his 31 starts but he’s usually thereabouts. He raced on the pace and tried hard at Kilmore last time after struggling in a harder race at Mornington. He’s an each-way chance at odds.
THE JOCKEY
ZAC SPAIN
Spain will head to Pakenham full of confidence after winning Wednesday’s Kyneton Cup and he can continue his form with almost a full book of rides.
GRAMMY DIVA (Race 1, No.12, $25.50), ST CLOUD FEMME (Race 2, No.13, $6.50), MAUI (Race 3, No.8, $4.40), BATTLECRUISER (Race 4, No.1 $3.50), DANCE READY (Race 6, No.3, $6), BLACK SEA (Race 7, No.5 $9.50), DOWN UNDER DANCER (Race 8, No.15 $17), JOE’S PRIDE (Race 9, No.13 $26).
