Easter meeting concerns for Doomben Monday with heavy rain predicted

Queensland stewards are closely monitoring the weather with Monday’s Easter meeting at Doomben under threat.
With the Bureau of Meteorology predicting heavy downpours of between 70-120mm on race day Racing Queensland is already making contingency plans should the meeting not be able to proceed.
If indeed the meeting is forced to be cancelled RQ are already considering the possibility of rescheduling at least some races to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast next weekend.
There is an eight-race card scheduled to be run at Doomben on Monday with the remainder of the week seeing meetings down for Ipswich on Wednesday with Doomben again on the calendar for Saturday along with the Gold Coast.
