His last run behind Winx wasn’t as bad as everyone thought it was. Reckon he is the second best middle-distance horse in the country. Darren Weir will have him ready for today.

Drawn wide but all that will do will be to make for a better price. Really good horse who can win this at each-way odds.

Has been very impressive in Europe this year winning a French feature last start that has been a great guide in the past. Two big pluses, Bowman and the barrier.

Race 4 No. 2 Cliff’s Edge

Very good last start in the UCI at Flemington and Caulfield will suit — will sit on the speed and should be hard to beat.

Blinkers first time, drawn well and looks like the target race. First emergency but if she gets a start then should be right in the finish.

Caulfield, Race 9 No. 1 Foxplay

Class act. Three ripper runs without winning this campaign. Drops back from big Epsom run to take on her own sex. She’ll win if she’s as good I think she is.

BEST VALUE

Race 8, No. 1 Humidor

Star. Out to big odds because he was slightly below par last time, but that was behind Winx. Previous win fantastic. Jockey Damian Lane in super form, he’s sure to run a mighty race.

How to win at the races

LIBBY HOPWOOD

BEST BET

Race 7, No. 8 Super Too

Flying machine racing in terrific form. Yet to win at Group level, but this is ideal. Her brother was a Singapore superstar and she appears to be coming into her own. No weight, drawn well, freshened and slick.

BEST VALUE

Race 8, No. 7 Ventura Storm

No match for Winx last start, but a rocket ship would been left in her wake. He’s already a proven Group 1 winner at this trip, rock hard fit and his racing pattern will have him perfectly poised to fight out the finish.

JAIMEE ROGERS

BEST BET

Race 10, No. 3 Nieta

It’s worth waiting until the last race. This is down a mile in class and has form around Everest winner Redzel and the exiting In Her Time. No luck last time. This looks ideal.

BEST VALUE

Race 8, No. 16 Amelie’s Star

I’ve got to have a play in the Caulfield Cup and seeing was believing for me with this mare. Stunning last-start win, trained by Weir and has Williams aboard. Each-way all day.

GREG MILES

BEST BET

Race 6, No. 6 Grande Rosso

Sat too close to a fast pace in a Group 1 latest and finished alongside Tosen Stardon who won last week’s Toorak. Down a grade here and gets Craig Williams who’s unbeaten in two rides. In first full preparation with Hayes/Dabernig.

BEST VALUE

Race 9, No. 13 Shillelagh

Very unlucky when held up in the straight latest at Randwick. Has a great second-up record including a very big win over this course and distance 12 months ago. Gets the Magic Man who rode her at Flemington 12 months ago for a good second. Will fly home.
