THE Queensland Reds have lost another backline star for 2015 with winger Rod Davies off to France.

Davies, 25, has signed with Pro D2 club Biarritz on a two-year deal.

Nicknamed 'The Rocket', Davies played one Test for the Wallabies in 2011.

He will follow Melbourne Rebels-bound Mike Harris in quitting the 2011 Super Rugby champions, who have struggled in 2014 to sit 12th on the ladder.

Biarritz has also signed New Zealander Bryn Evans, a former Hurricanes and Blues lock now playing with London Irish.

Biarritz were relegated from the elite Top 14 after a horrendous campaign and will play in the second division next season.

Despite a budget of 11.7 million euros ($A17.55 million) which will put them among the Pro D2 big hitters, the club is rebuilding following the departure of several top players.
