MELBOURNE Rebels have been bolstered by the retention of three of its key young players.
Winger Tom English, Sam Jeffries and Ben Meehan yesterday all penned new deals with the fast-improving Rebels, who have enjoyed a 4-2 start to the Super Rugby season.
Meehan has re-committed to the club until the end of next season, while English and Jeffries have put pen to paper until 2018.
“We’re thrilled to have re-signed three quality players and individuals to keep Tom, Sam and Ben (Meehan) at the Rebels organisation for years to come,” Rebels rugby operations manager Baden Stephenson said.
“The three players are valued members of the organisation and epitomise the Rebels with hard work, belief in the program and drive to achieve consistent high standards and results.
“The re-commitment of these three players is not just another vote of confidence in the club’s vision and stability but a clear message that Melbourne is a serious rugby destination.”
The Rebels have a bye this weekend, but return to AAMI Park on Friday week for a clash with the Hurricanes.
