BEAU Robinson will make a shock attempt to play in tomorrow night's Lions versus Country match despite being badly injured playing against the tourists for Queensland on Saturday night.

The backrower was carried from the field on a stretcher and wearing a neck brace after copping an accidental head flush to the face, but claimed he did not suffer concussion.

"I remember most of it, I haven't seen the replay, that's just part and parcel of the game," Robinson said after training lightly with the Combined NSW and Queensland Country side in Newcastle yesterday.

"I didn't have concussion, I just took the big hit and it rattled me a little bit. Very rarely you get this opportunity to represent Country, and play the British and Irish Lions. I will be doing what I can to get in there."

Robinson must pass tests today to convince the ARU's medical staff that it is safe for him to play in Newcastle.

He's is the last person the Lions would have expected to see on the field after his heavy knock in the entertaining clash at Suncorp Stadium.

"They were quite physical, I thought we (the Reds) matched them," Robinson said.

But when it came to mind games, and off-field sideshows, the Lions were way in front given coach Warren Gatland's claims of a "Wallabies spy" in Perth.

After Saturday's match, Gatland revealed his fitness staff ejected a spectator from a training session, he was "chased down" by the two Lions staffers and forced to delete footage after filming a closed session at nib stadium at the start of the week.

Speaking about it after the Lions' 22-12 win over Queensland, Gatland indicated it was considered part of the Australian teams' efforts to build intelligence on the tourists, including taping the matches in Perth and Brisbane.

But the Lions coach yesterday quickly moved to clarify that the nib stadium intruder was a random spectator and that he also had no problem with Wallabies analysts filming their tour matches.

"If Australia try to video us I've got no worries about that so there's no allegations of spying," he said. "They are perfectly entitled to do that."

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans saw through the ruse.

"They create their own stories," he said. "It's just a sideshow really. What the motivation is, you would have to ask Warren. I don't want to fuel the fire. We don't have a security officer, the Lions do. Maybe that's an indication."
