WORKHORSE flanker Beau Robinson will earn his 50th Queensland cap on Saturday night in the Reds’ battle for pride against the Melbourne Rebels at Suncorp Stadium.
Reds head coach Richard Graham praised Robinson for the achievement and all he has given to Queensland Rugby.
“Beau has worked incredibly hard to get to this point,” Graham said of the flanker who rebuilt his career after starting out with the NSW Waratahs.
“No one could ever question his commitment to Queensland and the Reds jersey. He’s a very passionate player and has always given everything for the team. This will mean a significant amount to him.”
The Reds have stuck to the side that crashed 57-29 to the Crusaders last Sunday after a building a promising 17-16 first half lead.
“I thought the team played some very good rugby in the first half last weekend against the Crusaders. We continue to work hard and there is an incredibly strong desire to correct our path and get back to winning games,” Graham said.
“We know what to expect when it comes to the Rebels. I know Tony (McGahan) well and it’s obvious to anyone who has watched Super Rugby this year that he has turned the Rebels into a very physical and strong defensive side.”
The Reds have won all six clashes against the Rebels across the history of clashes between the sides.
