Photos: CHS beat NSW CCC for U18 girls rugby championship

It was fast, furious and physical with CHS running off with the medals in the NSW schools U18 girls sevens trial and championship. Check out the fantastic photos.

They were fast, furious and skilful and it delivered CHS the U18 girl’s seven title at the NSW Schools rugby trials and championships at Eric Tweedale Stadium this week.

The No. 1 team from CHS defeated CCC 19-7 in the final to finished on top of the ladder with CIS taking out third place on the day.

CHS captain Charlie Norton was delighted with the result and proud of her teammates.

“It was a great game,’’ said the Hunter Sports High student, originally from Kempsey on the mid-north coast, who is already dreaming of representing Australia in Sevens rugby at the Olympics and the Wallaroos at a World Cup in the future.

“We have a lot of different players and we worked really well as a team. That’s what was so good,’’ she said.

Norton started her career playing against boys teams and said the physicality of the game attracts her.

“I started playing with my brothers as well and I think it has really helped me,’’ she said.
